Safety Case Development
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
rcm2 staff has been involved in the
setting up of various rail project safety management systems, using adaptations
of the system described in the "Yellow Book". rcm2 staff have
worked setting up and managing Hazard Logs for a number of rail projects
(West Coast Route Modernisation, Two Major Re-signalling Projects, ...).
Our staff have many years' experience generating and providing input into
safety cases for the UK rail industry. We have contributed to the safety
case of a novel hybrid automotive engine management system. |

Systems
Engineering is about processes to ensure that stakeholders' requirements
for a complex engineering system is fully met. It is about a "holistic
view" and the glue that ensures multi-disciplinary activities are integrated
to enable the realisation of successful systems. rcm2 has experience of full lifecycle development of safety critical systems to CENELEC, IEC, ITSEC and 00-55/00-56 standards. We have been involved in the safety, performance and RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) activities on various railway and other transportation projects including the production of safety cases. We have over twelve years of expertise in Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) database and associated DXL programming. We have supported two large projects that used DOORS to manage traceability of industry Standards. |

rcm2 has extensive experience in modelling
systems and their components for the purposes of assurance of safety, reliability
and other performance capabilities. We are able to use any one or a combination
of the following techniques: Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis, Cause-Consequence
Modelling, Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability
Prediction using MIL-HBK-217, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and Markov
Analysis. |
